Tom , clocksmith, expert antique furniture
restorer and maker, will share techniques and help us understand the processes
of veneer repair, conservation of damaged veneer, and will cover common
problems and solutions. Properties and characteristics of different woods will
be discussed and examples will be used to highlight the topics. Tom will cover common repairs and techniques for forming veneer
shapes. He will also have examples of less common repairs. Suggested Reading: Dec. 2006 NAWCC Bulletin, Vol. 48, Issue 365, page 671, Part 3 – Faking “A Restoration Technique” by Tom Temple – the article covers a very important facet of veneer repair. |
